01 / The challenge

The challenge.

Fitness apps tend to be heavy and expensive to maintain. The client needed a focused product: members log in, follow workouts, track progress and manage their profile, with staff able to manage users. It had to be fast on mobile, cheap to run and ready to extend with paid plans later.

02 / What we built

What we built.

We built a Next.js application with Prisma on PostgreSQL and NextAuth for authentication, server-rendered for speed and SEO, with a small, clear component system. Workout and progress models were designed to support future programs and subscriptions without migrations that break data.

  • Email and OAuth authentication with session management via NextAuth
  • Workout library and personal tracking with history and simple analytics
  • Admin area for user management
  • Mobile-first UI tuned for gym use: large targets, forgiving forms
  • Type-safe data layer with Prisma and end-to-end TypeScript
